The Ministry of Economic Development published some information last August, according to which, taking into consideration inflation, the real incomes of Muscovites decreased in relation with the previous year. Furthermore, according to data from the Federal State Statistics Service, foreign investments into the Russian economy in the first half of 2008 decreased by almost one third year-on-year. The conflict with Georgia is not helping any either, and Russia’s image as an investment target could change for the worse.
