“The project has entered its final stage – the building has been constructed, and now the installation of utilities continues. We plan to finish the hotel by the end of this year and hand it over for test operations to the Hilton Company,” said Mr. Levin.
In April 2010, an agreement was signed between the government of Ulyanovsk and Aviacor for the construction in Ulyanovsk of a world-class Hilton Garden Inn with 176 rooms, an SEC, 7 meeting rooms, restaurants, and parking. The architecture of the building will resemble historical buildings of the 19th century. The volume of investments attracted for the construction of this complex will be about 2 billion rubles.
They expected to finish construction in 2012, but then the date was extended, because it was decided to make a hotel of a higher quality than initially planned. The hotel room fund was restructured, which necessitated a change in the project.
Alexander Smekalin, Oblast Minister of Strategic Development and Innovation, added that the hotel will be built just in time, as in 2018, during the World Cup, the Ulyanovsk Oblast might be hosting more than one million visitors – seeing it is close to the Samara Oblast, Mordovia and Tatarstan, where the 2018 World Cup games will be played.
Aviacor has a general agreement with Hilton, according to which the company will build hotels in Ulyanovsk and Samara (construction work in Samara has not started yet).
